Activities in Graubünden
Graubünden gets moving
Sport for everyone
Staying active is essential for children in Graubünden. With GKB Sportkids, they can try different sports from the age of five. One of them might even discover a lifelong passion for a particular sport – after all, we’re always looking for the next Olympic star. Local role models such as Andri Ragettli and Aita Gasparin provide further inspiration.
We Graubünden locals tend to be rather reserved and modest. But there is one subject we can talk about endlessly: outdoor sports. We’re known for them throughout Switzerland, and for some activities, we’re almost the only place to go. Take pump tracks, for example: graubündenSPORT has built them at a higher density than anywhere else in Switzerland. If you love speed and outdoor fitness, bring your bike and ride the rollers for free.
If outdoor sports aren’t your passion, there’s still plenty to get involved in. Across the canton, you’ll find a wide range of team sports clubs and martial arts clubs.
Something for every taste
Culture, theatre and music
Sport is only part of what inspires us in Graubünden. People of all ages take part in cultural life. At Junges Theater Graubünden, founded by Roman Weishaupt, director of Theater Chur, young actors showcase their skills in annual performances. Weishaupt’s mission is to create theatre productions guided by a strong artistic vision and depth of content, under the direction of experienced theatre professionals.
You don’t need grand ambitions to enjoy the spotlight. With more than 66 theatre groups and 124 choirs, there is a group for everyone to share their talents and make new friends.
Music lovers can enjoy festivals and open-air events, including Open Air Lumnezia, as well as classical events such as Origen Festival Cultural and the Engadin Festival.
