When Graubünden measures the sun
Data that reaches into space
Radiation measurement and space research
The observatory in Davos is an undisputed global reference, offering you the opportunity to work at the forefront of international research. Highly sensitive measuring instruments are calibrated here for renowned research institutions around the world.
Our work also extends far beyond the Earth’s atmosphere. In space research, data from instruments developed in Davos and deployed on current satellite missions comes directly back to your screen. This allows you to contribute to new insights into the Sun, space weather and their direct influence on the planetary system and Earth’s climate. Here, cutting-edge theoretical research meets technology built for space.

Tiny sensors for major breakthroughs
Nanomedicine and biosensing
Pioneering science takes place both high in Davos and down in the valley. In Landquart, CSEM operates a state-of-the-art centre for nanomedicine and biosensors. Here, you work in a team developing tiny, highly precise measuring devices that can, for example, detect allergies within seconds, continuously monitor vital signs or enable entirely new, minimally invasive diagnostic methods.
The centre works closely with leading universities and innovative industrial companies, supports promising start-ups and strengthens the vibrant high-tech sector in the Alpine Rhine Valley. Through your ideas and innovations at CSEM, you contribute directly to medical technology from Graubünden that saves lives worldwide and revolutionises tomorrow’s healthcare.
